Daily Dose of Protest: Rule 4080 – Rome Streetz & Conductor Williams

From the Mass Appeal Records Instagram

This collaboration between emcee Rome Streetz and beat maker Conductor Williams is from their upcoming album Trainspotting, set to be released May 30. Deriving inspiration from A Tribe Called Quest’s 1991 classic tune “Check the Rhime” (“Industry rule number four thousand and eighty. Record company people are shady”), both the lyrics and video provocatively compare the music industry to modern-day slavery (“slave to the game, contract whip or chain”). Rome Streetz exposes the corruption of an industry built on corporate greed.
