This tune is from the 5th solo album, The Last Steps of Man-Unkind, by the veteran Canadian Metis punk vocalist. On the YouTube video page, she mentioned the motivation behind the track and video: “God is love. Religion is not. I support spirituality. I do not support or believe in rich religious figures bleeding money from the poor in the name of God.”
The song and video also features former Dead Kennedys frontman and punk legend Jello Biafra. The album was also released on Biafra’s record label Alternative Tentacles.
