The latest single by the poet and rapper appears on their upcoming self-titled 5th album, out July 4. Concerning the album, Tempest stated: “It was important for me to show up for my community, to show up for myself being a trans man and a non binary person. These are just crucial elements of my make-up.” Specifically dealing with this tune, “I love this song. It samples a lyric I wrote years ago, where my younger self is talking to their younger self,” Tempest said. “When I was young I sought help from my older self. I came into my head, I told me ‘know yourself.”
